Liz Schwan brings a unique blend of compassionate guidance and forward thinking to the senior care industry. After a successful career as a senior executive in entertainment and technology, Liz has made a purposeful shift to senior placement services, driven by a deep personal calling to help families navigate the often overwhelming process of finding the right assisted living or memory care community.

With decades of experience in partnerships, and strategic planning, Liz now applies those same skills to advocate for seniors and their families as a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). From understanding individual health and lifestyle needs to evaluating financial considerations and unique qualities of each senior care community, Liz offers families a thoughtful, well-informed personalized approach to each client’s unique situation.

Liz knows the importance of trust, transparency, and results. These qualities now define her approach to senior placement—offering clear guidance, vetted options, and hands-on support every step of the way.

When not working with families, Liz spends time visiting and evaluating residential care communities, meeting with staff, and reviewing licensing and safety records to ensure every recommendation is informed, up-to-date, and aligned with your family’s goals. With Liz as your Senior Care Advisor, you can feel confident that you’re not making this journey alone—you have a knowledgeable, experienced advocate by your side.

Your Advisor will meet with you in person to discuss your options and then accompany you on visits to places that meet your criteria. We ensure that all your questions are answered, and assist with paperwork and negotiations. The hallmark of our service commitment is that we are by your side every step of the way.

We are paid a referral fee by the communities and care homes so there is no cost to you for our placement services. In the rare case where we are not contracted with a community, your Advisor will let you know at the outset and explain any fees that might be incurred, should you choose that location. You can expect total transparency from us and we respect your right to choose.

Company History

Senior Care Authority

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.
